Unless you pay the mall a visit most every weekend and know it like the back of your hand, sorting through all the advertisement pillars to find that one with the mall map isn’t always a great time — particularly for those of us who want to get out of the mall as fast as possible. Point Inside aims to bring the interior maps of malls across the U.S. directly to your Android smartphone, at the same time delivering helpful information such as store hours and contact information.

When you fire up Point Inside, you are greeted by a map displaying malls nearby your current GPS location. You can then tap on a mall to view level-by-level maps, a comprehensive list of stores, mall services, ATM and parking locations and more. Depending on the mall, you may also be able to access ongoing promotions and view scheduled mall events.

Tapping on a store provides that store’s location in the mall, brief description, phone number, store hours, promotions (if any), and a website link.

I have HTC Hero. Your help is appreciated! Please email me will be grateful!

  • Cool app – I have an Android and my wife an iPhone, app works well on both. Some malls in our area have sales and event notifications. Saved 10% at Kate Spade today!

  • Nice work Ari! You’re Android training aid is better than ours (I’m guessing it’s your practice).

Last week’s release added search and VOICE SEARCH which I’ve been finding a cool differentiator for Android. We have another release within hours that includes feedback so the user can tell us what they’d like to add to the application or what corrections we should be making.

Again, super job on the video! Josh Marti

  • Wow. What a great app. Thanks for letting me know.

  • As a tech blogger, I’ve used both Point Inside and Micello. There are several advantages that Point Inside has, the most relevant here being that Point Inside is available for both iPhone and Android. Micello is only available on iTunes, so their previous comment is pretty irrelevant to this discussion about ANDROID apps.

For a rich and more interactive experience on the map – see your favorites highlighted or store changing color when you search for an item or store, download Micello Indoor Maps from iTunes. New maps being added daily and some very cool functions. Compare the difference and see true maps in action with the Micello App.
