Cell Phone Comparisons
DROID Incredible vs. HTC HD2

Wirefly Learn » Resources » Cell Phone Comparisons

April 23rd, 2010

Key Differences

  • Operating System: The T-Mobile HTC HD2 is powered by Windows Mobile 6.5 with HTC’s attractive Sense user interface built on top, while the DROID Incredible by HTC is an Android-powered device.  The DROID Incredible also has HTC’s gorgeous Sense user experience.  The many differences between the two operating systems and the relatively slight differences between the two Sense user interfaces on each device are beyond the scope of this comparison, but both devices are powerful solutions for both work and play.
  • Display: The DROID Incredible by HTC has a sizable 3.7-inch high resolution display (480×800 pixels), but the HD2 bests the DROID Incredible, boasting a huge and gorgeous 4.3-inch display. The HD2′s large display makes it the ultimate entertainment device, perfect for watching movies and offering an impressive web browsing experience.
  • Camera: At 5-megapixels, the HD2′s camera is powerful and also shoots great video. The HTC DROID Incredible, however, is equipped with an 8-megapixel camera — overtaking the HD2 by 3 megapixels. Though 5 megapixels should be plenty for most, avid mobile phone photographers may prefer the DROID Incredible. Both devices have a bright dual-LED flash.
  • Power: Both the HTC HD2 and DROID Incredible by HTC rock a powerful 1GHz Snapdragon processor, making the pair among the most powerful smartphones on the planet.  While the DROID Incredible has an undeniably impressive 512MB of RAM, the HD2 has a slight upper hand, coming in at 576MB of RAM.  The RAM difference, however, is more of a spec sheet win rather than a significant factor in the power differential between the two high-end devices.
  • Size & Design: Because of the HD2′s giant 4.3-inch display, it is a wider and taller device than the compact DROID Incredible.  Both phones are of a comparable thickness, and while the HD2 is a larger device, it will also slide into your pocket with relative ease because of its thin build.  The HD2 and DROID Incredible are as attractive on the outside as they are on the inside.  The DROID Incredible takes a unique, “race car inspired” approach to the design of its backing, adopting a contoured design to reflect its internal components.
