One would certainly find the flashlight in their iPhone handy at some point. It is one of the many features of the iPhone appreciated by many users. However, did you know you could control how bright these flashlights get? With the iPhone 6S or anything newer, and the latest iOS version installed on the phone, you get to set the light to Bright, Medium, or Low. Take a look below to learn how to alter the brightness of the iPhone flashlight to suit your needs.
You Adjust Flashlight Brightness on iPhone 6S Or Newer Models
Adjusting the brightness of the flashlight requires one to have the iPhones with the 3DTouch functionality. This is because pressing down hard on the flashlight icon within the Control Center is required to trigger the menu that controls the light intensity of the flashlight. Therefore, this feature requires two things – the iPhone needs to be a 6S or newer with the iOS 10 or newer.
Sometimes, the flashlight brightness menu does not appear when one presses down the flashlight menu. This tends to happen and only requires that you press it a little harder. This function could seem a little odd to those who are not used to pressing down on their iPhone screen. However, they would get accustomed soon.
Step By Step Directions To Change The iPhone Flashlight Brightness
Swipe up from the bottom of the iPhone screen. This would open up the Control Center of the iPhone. On the lower left hand corner, you then find the flashlight icon, looking like an actual flashlight.
Simply tapping on the Flashlight icon opens the flashlight. What is new is that when you press hard and hold your finger on the icon, a new menu pops up, allowing you to select the brightness.
Now, choose how bright you need the flashlight be even before it turns on.
Simply tap on Bright Light, Medium Light, or Low Light to select the brightness intended for the flashlight, and the flashlight goes on.
Does the iPhone Save Flashlight Brightness Settings?
When you set the brightness setting for your iPhone flashlight, the settings stay the same unless it is being altered or the iPhone is turned off and back on. Therefore, while the setting stays, it only stays saved until the iPhone reboots. At this point, the flashlight goes back to the default value of Bright Light.
