Disney+ App Not Working on iPhone and How To Fix It
Disney+ is one of the most popular new streaming services to exist. It is quite possibly the streaming service to gain the most popularity and hype surrounding it before it was even released.
Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars fans waited with bated breath for the app to release, only to discover it does not always function completely. The last thing you'll want to do is miss out on all of the copious content you've been waiting for due to tech issues.
That's why we've compiled a step-by-step guide for getting your Disney+ app working again and get you back to streaming your favorite Disney content.
Why is my Disney+ App Not Working?
There are a number of reasons why your Disney+ app could be malfunctioning. These include server errors, device incompatibility, software issues, and more.
You'll want to troubleshoot each issue step by step in order to systematically eliminate false possibilities and get to the bottom of why your Disney+ app is malfunctioning.
Some Problems People Face Are:
Bad Internet Connection
Restart Your Device
Before messing around with any of your settings or your Disney+ app, the easiest possible solution would be to restart your device. Turning your device off and on again has been known to fix a wide variety of issues, as well as finalize any pending updates to your phone or app.
If you are using an iPhone or iOS device, be sure to turn your phone off completely by holding the power button under the Slide to Turn Off slider appears onscreen. Slide the button to turn off your phone and leave it off for a count of ten.
Restart your phone by holding the power button until the Apple logo reappears onscreen.
If you are using an Android phone or device, hold the power button until your phone is turned all the way off. Be sure to also wait until a count of ten so your device has a chance to fully turn on and off again, then press the power button again to turn it off.
Reopen your Disney+ app and check to be sure it is working. If the restart fixed your issues, you're all set. If not, you'll want to attempt updating your Disney+ app.
Although the Disney+ app is relatively new, it has already released several updates. The app release was not flawless and the Disney+ app developers were quick to attempt to fix the errors present with the app.
In order to attempt to debug the app, Disney+ had to release updated versions of the app. Updating the app may fix your problem.
Open the app store on your Apple device and check the updates section in order to determine in your Disney+ app needs an update. If it is not present, you have the latest version available to you. If it is present, go ahead and update the app.
On your Android device, you'll want to go to the Apps section and update the Disney+ app, if present.
Once you have updated the app, check to see if the update has fixed the errors you are facing. If it has not, or did not need to be updated in the first place, you'll likely need another solution.
It is possible that you have not fully closed out of the Disney+ app. Closing out of apps is important to allow them to update as well as clean out extraneous data that could impact your app's performance.
Go ahead and swipe up on your Apple device until you are able to swipe the Disney+ app offscreen.
On your Android device, you can choose to go to settings, then apps and force stop your Disney+ app.
Reopen the app and see if it has fixed your problem.
Check Your Internet Connection
It may seem obvious, but you'll want to check if there's a larger problem at play here. Check to make sure your device is connected to the proper network.
Attempt disconnecting and reconnecting. If this does not work, go ahead and restart your internet connection, just as you did your phone.
Press the power off button on your router or unplug it and wait for about 10 seconds. When the 10 seconds are up, go ahead and reconnect your device or power it back on. It will likely take a while for you to regain internet access.
Once you do, reconnect your device and check to see if your newly strengthened internet connection has solved your streaming problems. If not, you may need to consider switching to data.
Switch to Data
Regardless of whether or not you've restarted your device, your internet connection may just not be cutting it.
Go to your settings and turn off your Wi-Fi, then attempt to stream content from your Disney+ app that way. If you are able to stream, you'll know the problem was your internet connection all along. If not, you can move on to the next solution.
Delete Your Disney+ App
Sometimes you simply need to delete an app and reinstall it all together in order to optimize your experience.
On your Apple device, simply hold the app's icon and press the x in that appears in the corner.
On an Android device, you can simply navigate to your settings and clear the cache manually.
