One of the things that separate premium handsets from midrange and entry level smartphones is those cool bokeh camera effects. It is easier for high end devices to have bokeh on account of their dual camera set up, and despite the fact that twin camera configurations typically cost money to assemble, flagships can get away with it through their steep pricing.
Still, the number one smartphone vendor in the whole world is thinking of incorporating bokeh effects on its cheaper phones. Indeed, Samsung recently announced a new ISOCELL dual software solution that should facilitate the operation of two cameras even in midrange and entry level handsets.
As of the moment, the South Korean tech giant has not published any specifics yet, especially with regards to which models will get the ISOCELL dual software solution, or when they will be getting it. Everybody knows that Samsung has a very wide range of non-flagship devices, but it is a good bet that the most popular ones will be the first to get bokeh. And given that the company is not only a phone maker, but also a manufacturer of mobile components for other brands, it is reasonable to believe that other midrange or entry level models of other makes will also be getting the cool camera effect soon.
Meanwhile, leaker extraordinaire Evan Blass has recently tweeted yet another new image of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S9 devices (which will officially make their debut later this month (on February 25th to be exact, just in time for this year’s celebration of the annual Mobile World Congress in the beautiful city of Barcelona in Spain). This time around, however, the leaked renders show the flagships in a new color -- lilac purple.
Samsung is quite fond of choosing black and gray color options for its Galaxy lineup of flagship devices, and in certain occasions, it has released coral blue editions, too (as a matter of fact, the South Korean mobile manufacturer had launched a coral blue Galaxy S8 back in July of last year). The lilac purple would be a welcome addition to the current range of colors, which according to Blass, will include Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, and the aforementioned Coral Blue.
Interestingly, when Samsung released its invitation for its February 25 event nearly a couple of months ago, the purple color was prominent in the invite’s design. This is a good sign that a lilac purple Galaxy S9 is indeed just around the corner.
