C Spire (Cellular South Inc.), the sixth largest wireless provider in the United States, partnered up with Amazon, the largest online marketplace. C Spire is giving their customers a year of free Amazon Prime, which includes unlimited two-day shipping, TV streaming, movies, books, and other Amazon goodies, with an eligible data plan on the wireless provider's 4G LTE network.
Brian Caraway, a General Manager of C Spire's wireless said, "This offering is consistent with our goal of helping those customers who may still be on the fence to easily live a more digital lifestyle."
C Spire's ground-breaking technology movement launched last fall, it was designed to leverage their technology leadership and investments so it could transform its current service areas.
This is a limited time offer, and to be able to qualify for this promotion a customer must buy a new device on a C Spire payment plan or pay full retail price with an eligible postpaid data plan. Current customers can also receive the free one-year membership upon meeting minimum requirements. The wireless provider also shared that customers are limited to one promotional subscription per account.
"By 2020, analysts predict that most consumers will manage 85% of their relationship with a company, online," Caraway stated. "Offering consumers these types of digital transformation benefits are another way for C Spire to add value to the overall experience." Brian mentioned.
Amazon Prime currently costs $119 a year since Amazon raised its prices back in May, when a Prime subscription was only $99 for the same yearly membership. Before the latest price increase, Amazon had not increased their pricing since March of 2014, at which point the subscription went from $79 to $99.
