Sprint is launching its new Unlimited Freedom option, which offers a couple of lines of unlimited voice calls, text messaging, and nationwide 4G LTE data, plus optimized streaming video, gaming, and music, for only $100 per month, with no access fees or hidden charges. Unlimited Freedom will officially debut this coming Friday, August 19th.
With Sprint’s Unlimited Freedom, customers only pay $60 a month for a single line of service, while those who avail of a couple of lines of service will get the second line for just $40 a month, for a total of $100 a month. Moreover, for any new additional line of service after the second one, users will only pay $30 a month for every line added.
According to Marcelo Claure, the president and chief executive officer of Sprint, the overall goal of the Unlimited Freedom plan is to offer customers a no nonsense option that does not focus too much on the amount of data gigabytes or deal with all sorts of additional fees. With Unlimited Freedom, Sprint customers get simplified options with a pricing structure that gets cheaper the more lines of service they get.
With regards to video streaming, Sprint’s Unlimited Freedom does not limit subscribers to free streaming for only a select number of content providers. Instead, users can stream all their favorite films and TV shows without worrying about overages. The optimization of video streaming, gaming, and music allows customers to view media through their mobile devices at up to 480 pixel resolution for videos, up to 2 mbps for gaming, and up to 500 kbps for music streaming.
Meanwhile, Boost Mobile, the prepaid arm of Sprint, is also getting busy this week. On August 19th, the prepaid carrier is offering a new, simplified unlimited option called Unlimited Unhook’d. This zero contract option offers unlimited voice calls, text messaging, and optimized video streaming, gaming, and music, plus unlimited nationwide 4G LTE data.
In Boost Mobile’s Unlimited Unhook’d plan, the first line of service is offered at $50 a month, while the second line of service is priced at just $30 a month. Customers are free to get up to a total of five lines of service.
Apart from the Unlimited Unhook’d plan, Boost Mobile is also planning to introduce its $30 Unlimited Starter plan, which offers unlimited voice calls, text messaging, and data with 1 gigabyte of 4G LTE data. For those who want more high speed data, they can get 1 gigabyte more of 4G LTE data for $5 a month, or 2 gigabytes more of 4G LTE data for $10 a month. Families looking for savings can also take advantage of multiline plans, which costs an extra $30 a month for each line of service.
