ROK Mobile has some good news for its customers under Sprint’s calling plans -- the mobile virtual network network with a heart (check out our 2017 review of the MVNO here) has decided to provide international voice calls and text messaging, completely free of charge, to Sprint users. The free international calls and texts are made available to any new customer who signs up at the carrier’s official website or at any one of its 10,000 retail outlets. Sprint customers can now make unlimited calls to 60 countries and send unlimited texts to 120 countries across the globe.
It goes without saying that this latest offer from ROK Mobile should come in handy for mobile users who often make phone calls or send text messages to loved ones based outside America. That has always been the MVNO’s plan -- as explained by Clinton Ehrlich, vice president of marketing at ROK, providing a means for its customers to stay more connected easily with family and friends from outside the United States grants the mobile operator another opportunity to build more trust and loyalty among its subscribers.
Speaking of loyalty, ROK Mobile is also formally announcing a new rewards program as an expression of gratitude to users who not only have signed up for a plan with the carrier, but also maintained their account until now. In this loyalty program, subscribers get to enjoy up to a hundred bucks in rewards dollars when they avail of a plan, and then receive even more dollars for every month they stay as a ROK Mobile user.
As for the rewards dollars, customers can redeem them at over half a million locations spread all throughout the United States, even in well known outlets like Gap, Subway, Chili’s TGI Friday’s, Office Depot, and Michaels, just to name a few. The dollars can also be redeemed online with major brands like Nike, Ray-Ban, Calvin Klein, and Lacoste, among many others.
In a separate press release, John Janes, the chief executive officer of ROK Mobile, stated that the new loyalty rewards program is a consistent extension of the carrier’s branding, a big focus of which is to always help mobile users accumulate savings. While the MVNO has done plenty of that through its wireless plans, the rewards program gives its subscribers a chance to save when visiting national chains and other retailers. On top of all this, customers who sign up online also receive family roadside assistance.
