Sprint has decided to offer new subscribers 5 lines of service that come with unlimited data, voice calls, and text messaging for $90 a month (taxes not included). The first line of service is offered at $50 a month, the second line is $40 a month, while the third, fourth, and fifth lines are offered free of charge.
Among the Big Four (Verizon Wireless, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint), Sprint’s Unlimited data plan was already considered by many as the most affordable, but with this latest special offer, unlimited data for at least three lines of service is made even more budget friendly as compared to the rest of the competition.
But those interested should know that the super cheap prices will only be made available for a period of 12 months. In other words, once a subscriber avails of this promotional deal, he will locked into this discounted rate until March 31st of next year. Immediately after that date, the prices will be sure to increase, and the cost of a plan that offers 5 lines of service will rise to $190 a month, a price increase of a hundred bucks. Yikes. And that is not all. A line of service will increase to $60 a month, while the second line will be stuck at $40 a month, and the third, fourth, and fifth line will be $30 a month (that is, with Auto Pay).
Some may remember that less than a couple of weeks ago, Sprint had introduced a new limited time promo that brought down the price of its unlimited plan to $50 a month for one line of service, plus a pair of lines for $90. This time around, the major US wireless carrier is making that deal even more appealing by adding three lines free of charge.

Competition in the world of unlimited has intensified as of late -- last month, industry leader Verizon Wireless had launched a new promo that offered 5 gigabytes of data for $55 a month. Many considered Sprint’s $50 a month special offer as a direct response to the Big Red’s move. At that time, Roger Sole, the chief marketing officer of Sprint, had written via a blog post that Verizon’s approach to offering mobile data may no longer work with today’s customers. He reasoned that the volume of video data traffic on mobile devices is growing two fold every 18 months, with almost 50 percent of all households in America now relying fully on smartphones and tablet devices, even to the point of doing away with the once standard landline phone.
