One day after being recognized as the fastest wireless carrier in the United States, at least according to the latest study released by testing firm OpenSignal, T-Mobile has decided to drop the prices of its unlimited data plan. Indeed, the four person unlimited data plan’s price has been lowered to just $150 a month. On top of that, the third biggest wireless carrier in America is also presenting a four person plan that costs $120 a month, and offering 10 gigabytes of data to each member of the plan.
T-Mobile has always been known to be the aggressive one in terms of promotions and special offers, at least when compared to the other wireless carriers making up the Big Four (namely, Verizon Wireless, AT&T, and Sprint). But this latest development sees T-Mobile showing great generosity -- the price drop of the unlimited data plan is $70, almost a third of its previous pricing. The wireless carrier is essentially getting rid of the charge for the plan’s fourth line of service. And because the plan is made available to both new and current subscribers, basically everybody gets to take advantage of the deal.
$150 a month may be the most affordable price ever offered by any wireless carrier for a four person unlimited data plan. Technically speaking, it is still actually $50 a month for every line of service, but the fourth line of service is basically served absolutely free of charge.
As for those who can not manage to get four members for the family plan, they might want to check out T-Mobile’s offer for two lines of service costing $100 a month and already includes 10 gigabytes of LTE data each month to each line of service. And it should be noted that subscribers are free to add more lines of service for only $30 to either the unlimited data plan or the 10 gigabyte data plan. However, the maximum limit is 12 lines of service.
As mentioned earlier, T-Mobile is making these deals available to both new and current subscribers. Moreover, there are no requirements for switching to these new plans -- no need to port one’s number nor trade in an existing mobile device. Furthermore, T-Mobile is actually letting subscribers combine the latest offers with the Half-Off Smartphone Event promo that the wireless carrier launched about a week ago.
