Xfinity Mobile, the wireless service of Comcast, has recently announced that it will start accepting preorders for Apple’s soon to launch iPhone X starting on October 27th through its official website and via its Xfinity Store locations. On November 3rd, the device will hit the carrier’s store shelves at 8 AM local time. For those interested in purchasing an iPhone 8 or an iPhone 8 Plus, Xfinity Mobile is selling them, too.
On top of that, Xfinity Mobile is also launching a new limited time special offer for those who decide to switch from other wireless service providers. From now until December 3rd of this year, customers who sign up for an X1 triple play option (which already includes mobile, Internet, and TV) will get a $500 gift card.
So far among today’s mobile operators, Comcast is one of the most aggressive when it comes to taking full advantage of the excitement over the highly awaited iPhone X. But it is a good bet that in the next few days, other carriers will also be introducing their respective iPhone X deals and special offers. Even now, three national service providers are already announcing their promos -- Verizon Wireless is promising to give $300 in credit to those willing to trade in a relatively new smartphone model; T-Mobile is similarly offering $300 in credit to users who trade in a handset and avail of its unlimited plans; and Sprint is offering a $350 discount on the lease price of the iPhone X to those who trade in a device. AT&T is yet to unveil its iPhone X deal, while US Cellular (the number five carrier in the country) already has debuted its offer.
2017 is looking to be a rather unique year for Apple’s iPhones. This year happens to mark the tenth anniversary of the original iPhone’s existence, and the release of the iPhone X is seen by many as a celebration of the device’s decade long popularity. But apart from the iPhone X, Apple is also releasing two other new iPhone models -- the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus. The iPhone X, however, is considered by many as the superior product, and presumably, the more coveted by consumers. With slow sales for the iPhone 8 devices so far (the phones were launched last September 22nd), it appears that most people really are choosing to wait instead for the iPhone X, even amidst talk of limited availability.
