Wirefly helps you save on Internet service by offering innovative comparison tools to compare Internet providers in your area.
It’s the end of an era– one that today’s generation may have never heard of before.
Earlier today, AT&T announced that they are putting an end to their operator and directory assistance. This means that if you dial “0” and “411” on your AT&T Phone, you won’t be able to get the help you require.
If you’re confused about what these numbers mean, it’s perfectly understandable since there’s not a lot of people who still use these numbers to speak with an operator.
In its press release, Ma Bell wrote:
“If you dial “0”, “00”, “411”, “NPA+555-1212”, or “555-1212” on or after January 1, 2023, you may receive a message letting you know that Operator and Directory Assistance can’t be reached.”
Instead of calling these numbers, AT&T suggests using a phone directory search engine like 411.com and therealyellowpages.com since “nearly all of these customers have internet access to look up this information.”
Meanwhile, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless continue to offer these services for a fee.
