AT&T is following after Verizon’s footsteps by raising the prices on its unlimited plans. But unlike Big Red, AT&T plans to increase these plans by 99 cents per line per month.
According to a report made by CNET, the changes will be implemented starting March 5th.
The plans on AT&T’s website already reflect the new pricing for new users. These plans also come with a new name and increased high-speed hotspot data. Here is a look into the new names of AT&T’s plans:
AT&T Value Plus VL: Now allows up to 10 lines (Previously AT&T Value Plus and limited to single line)
Unlimited Starter SL: Now comes with 5GB hotspot data (Previously Unlimited Start and 3GB hotspot data)
Unlimited Extra EL: Now comes with 30GB hotspot data (Previously Unlimited Extra and 15GB hotspot data)
Unlimited Premium PL: Now comes with 60GB hotspot data (Previously Unlimited Premium and 50GB hotspot data)
The priciest plan, Unlimited Premium PL, now also includes Dominican Republic in its list of countries with talk, text, and data.
The report also shares that Unlimited Elite plan customers will not be affected by the price hike since it recently got a price change.
According to an AT&T representative:
"Existing customers will be notified of these changes in the coming days and will have several weeks prior to the effective date to update their plan or make other changes if they'd like to."
