AT&T mobile customers are in for a treat as their carrier unveiled a new payment option in the form of bitcoin payments.
Earlier this week, AT&T announced that it has started to accept payments via bitcoin. Along with its announcement, AT&T is the first major wireless carrier in the US to accept cryptocurrency payments.
If you are an AT&T customer and you wish to make a payment using cryptocurrency, you simply need to head over to your MyAT&T account and choose BitPay option. This Atlanta-based bitcoin payment service provider is currently available online and through the myAT&T app. In-store payments are not yet supported.
AT&T Communications Finance Business Operations Vice President Kevin McDorman says that this move is one way they can “improve and expand” their services, particularly to “customers who use cryptocurrency.”
With this payment option now available, will you be using it to pay your bills?
