AT&T has just been chosen to be the networking service provider of the Games of the XXXII Olympiad, which will occur in Tokyo, Japan.
The decision was revealed today by NBC Sports Group’s VP of Transmission Engineering and Operations NBC Olympics’ Chris Connolly. According to the announcement, AT&T Global Video Services will be responsible for delivering HD coverage of the Tokyo Olympic Games, which will take place from July 23 to August 8.
“Our long experience with NBC Olympics --- combined with our flexible network platforms --- will help NBC Olympics bring state-of-the-art coverage to viewers across the United States,” AT&T Integrated & Partner Solutions’ president, Sarita Rao, revealed.
According to Connolly:
“AT&T has continued to provide the transport, planning and operational support needed to make the Games a continued success for NBC Olympics.”
This announcement shows that the Olympics will finally be taking place this year after being postponed due to the global health crisis that started in 2020.
