Boost Mobile will soon be offering free health care to its subscribers. Once they do, they will be the first wireless carrier to offer this perk.
Boost has partnered with K Health to ensure its subscribers and their family members have access to a live doctor anytime, any place, from their phone. This partnership comes at a time when almost three out of 10 Americans lost their health insurance in 2020. More surprisingly, half of those individuals remain uninsured today. With the pandemic, there is a concern on how Americans will be able to pay their medical expenses in 2021.
“Boost Mobile customers are disproportionately affected by rising health care costs, and Boost Mobile is bridging the gap by providing affordable wireless access, and now we want to expand those efforts to address the health care divide,” said Boost Mobile head Stephen Stokols. “K Health is the perfect partner to create a pathway to better health for individuals and families who do not have affordable access to medical services, which we estimate is up to half of our user base.”
New Boost subscribers under the Unlimited Plus plan will soon get free 24/7 access to health services from the K Health app. Using their phones, they can get in touch with a doctor directly and make use of the services available on the K Health app. The app also includes an AI-powered symptom checker to help determine what is wrong and give advice on what to do next. Subscribers can then get treatment and prescribed medication.
For subscribers on other Boost Mobile plans, the K Health service fee is discounted to $7.99 per month. You can sign up at this website to be among the ones in line for its official launch early this summer.
