Google will be opening up its first ever physical retail store this summer. And the location of this first store will be none other than the Big Apple, New York City.
To be more specific, the tech giant will be opening its first store in the Chelsea area of the city. According to Google, this first store will be a “space where customers can experience our hardware and services in a helpful way.”
The store will showcase some of the products made by Google, such as its Pixel phones, Fitbit, Pixelbooks, Nest products, and many more. Customers who step into the store will be able to browse these products and make a purchase. There is also an option to shop online and pick up the products in store.
In addition to its products and services, the Google Store will be equipped with a team of experts to help users make the most out of their devices. They can get assistance in troubleshooting issues, installations, and even fixing cracked screens.
Even though this is the first ever physical store that Google will be opening, the tech giant has thought about the possibility of opening a retail store in the past. They have had their fair share of pop-up shops where they allowed users to browse new products and even offered mini experience concessions inside the stores of Best Buy.
But with its retail store, Google is able to take things to another level. They no longer have to rely on their website for business opportunities since there are still some customers who prefer traditional retail channels.
With the ongoing health crisis, Google says that its store will continue to implement COVID-19 health protocols. When the Google Store opens, they will be implementing the need for masks, hand sanitation, and social distancing protocols. In addition, they will be offering pick up options and limiting the number of guests inside the store.
If things go well, this new Google Store could pave the way for future stores to open up in the future.
