Google is rolling out a new feature in the Play Store aimed at preventing accidental purchases. Instead of the traditional one-tap "Buy" or "Subscribe" buttons, users will now need to perform a deliberate swipe gesture to confirm purchases.
This change is designed to reduce unintended transactions, especially for those who have disabled or minimized purchase verification settings. It was first spotted by a Telegram (via AndroidAuthority) user.
The swipe-to-confirm feature is part of Play Store version 45.8.21-31 and is gradually being introduced to users. While the update is not yet available on all devices, it is expected to enhance user control and minimize accidental charges.
Do you think this is a much-needed update?
