Earlier today, Google held its Google I/O conference where it unveiled its two newest phones– the Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a. While the Pixel 7a is now available, the Pixel Fold won’t be available until June. Here’s what you need to know about these phones.
According to the announcement, the Pixel 7a will be available on the top three US carriers starting this afternoon. Its price at these carriers will follow this rate:
T-Mobile - $500
AT&T - $520
Verizon Wireless - $540
To compare, Google sells the device at the same price as T-Mobile’s.
The Pixel 7a is available in two versions: mmWave and non-mmWave. Verizon’s model comes with mmWave 5G support, which explains its price. Meanwhile, T-Mobile’s version doesn’t come with mmWave support. But it can support three-carrier aggregation via its 5G SA network. Lastly, AT&T’s version supports mid-band 5G.
As for the Google Pixel Fold, T-Mobile and AT&T says they will be offering this device “soon” and “this summer” (respectively). On the other hand, Verizon has revealed that they will start accepting pre-orders for the Pixel Fold on June 20th. The device will then be available on Big Red starting June 27th.
