When Nothing released its first-ever smartphone, it did not make its way to the US. This disappointed a number of people who were patiently waiting for the device to get their hands on Carl Pei’s newest product.
Fortunately, it has been revealed that the brand’s next smartphone will be released in the US. Pei will be making the US a top priority for the Nothing Phone (2) when it comes out later this year.
In an interview with Inverse, Pei says Nothing is now more secure in its footing, especially since they were able to generate more revenue last year. Even though the company has been around since 2021, they haven’t released a lot of products. Instead, they’ve been careful on what to release and slowly build on its market.
Although the Nothing Phone (2) will be released this year, there hasn’t been any other information announced except that it will be a more premium device. Additionally, the OS for the Phone (2) will be made in-house compared to its predecessor, the Phone (1), which was outsourced.
Aside from the Phone (2), Pei has plans to expand its business this year. As of this writing, Nothing has a physical retail store in London. Pei plans to open more stores but has not yet decided where this will be.
Hopefully, we get more information about the Nothing Phone (2) as its release date draws nearer.
