Good news! Samsung’s self-repair program now includes foldable devices. This means that you can now start fixing your Galaxy Z Fold 5 or Galaxy Z Flip 5 on your own.
When Samsung rolled out its self-repair program with iFixit last year, it only supported devices like the S20, S21, and Tab S7. But after some time, the South Korean manufacturer slowly added more devices to the lineup, including the S22 line, Galaxy Pro books, and both flagship and foldable Galaxy S23 devices.
According to The Verge, the new Galaxy foldables are not yet included on the devices listed on iFixit’s page. So if you need to fix one, you can’t get a price right away. But judging on the $900 price of the Google Pixel Fold’s parts kit, it won’t likely be cheap.
If you’re unsure of fixing your broken smartphone by yourself, you can still head to an authorized repair location and have your device fixed by the pros instead. After all, you might do more damage trying to get it done by yourself.
