“We’ve resolved a software issue that disrupted the ability of a limited number of our customers to connect to our wireless network. We apologize for the inconvenience and we appreciate our customers’ patience as we worked to resolve this issue."

This just in! Some Apple iPhone users on AT&T are reportedly experiencing loss of signal on their devices. The issue appears to affect thousands of iPhone devices across the Southeast, who are unable to make calls, send texts, or access data.
On DownDetector, the surge report reveals to be one of the biggest disruptions that AT&T customers experienced in recent years. The surge seems to have started sometime in the afternoon and is still ongoing for several customers. Some users on an Android device have also reported having disruptions on their service.
As reported by The Mobile Report, AT&T confirmed that the issue comes from a “critical failure at one of their switching centers,” which has resulted to several other issues including service delays, unable to provide new SIM cards, and complete loss of network connectivity.
Right now, a timeline has not yet been announced on when service will be restored. An AT&T spokesperson also said that he is already looking into what could have caused the issue. Since most of the senior technical support staff of AT&T finished their shifts at 5PM, many have gotten frustrated with the inaction. But there is nothing left to do at this point but to wait.
