A few years ago, Samsung Galaxy S20 users suddenly experienced seeing green and pink lines on their screens. And now, it looks like the issue is now affecting Samsung Galaxy S21 devices.
Affected users have turned to Twitter and Samsung community forums to share their own experiences. The photos shared on these sites show a vertical green and pink line on the middle of the screen. Those affected by the issue say that their phones were not dropped and exposed to any water damage. Most have shared that they started experiencing the issue after they updated their devices to the May version. If you are using a Samsung Galaxy S21 device, it may be best that you avoid this update for now.
The frustrating part about this is that the Galaxy S21 device was a costly phone when it came out in the market. It’s also important to note that the phone is now out of warranty. So if affected users will need to replace their screens, they’ll have to pay for it. Hopefully, Samsung addresses the issue. At the very least, we can hope that it will be a software issue, which can be addressed by a new update.
Like the Galaxy S20, the Galaxy S21 is now two years old when it started to show this issue. When the issue first appeared on the Galaxy S20, Samsung said that the issue could be due to dead or stuck pixels, which were not unusual and are usually unnoticeable. Samsung then replaced the screen of affected devices for free.
For now, Samsung has not yet addressed the issue and its course of action. Only a handful of users seem to be affected by the issue right now so it remains to be seen what it intends to do.
