The big four wireless networks in the US have been doing their best to fight spam calls. So far, AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile have already done their part to help their customers. Following their footsteps is Sprint with its newest spam call protection service that it launched today.
If you are a Sprint customer, you will have to download the free app called Sprint Call Screener Basic. With this app, unwanted malicious calls can be identified and blocked. You can also use the app to report these fraudsters.
Sprint is also offering extra service for $3 per month. This service, called Sprint Call Screener Plus, lets you get more benefits; such as:
Caller’s name, city, and state is displayed (even those not in your contacts)
Texter’s name is shown
Low risk calls that still cause a nuisance are identified, blocked, and reported
Incoming calls are categorized as spam, fraud, or robocall
Blocked and risky numbers are kept in history
Individual phone number can be reported as spam
The new app is available for both iOS and Android devices. Once you install the app on your device, Sprint will give you a free 15-day trial of the premium service. If you decide not to enroll in Sprint Call Screener Plus, Sprint will automatically transfer your account to the free basic version.
