T-Mobile customers are in for a treat! In addition to a complimentary subscription to Netflix on Magenta and Magenta Plus unlimited plans, the Un-carrier is offering something new.
Earlier this week, T-Mobile revealed that they have partnered up with a new video streaming service called Quibi. Despite only making the announcement official this week, they have teased this partnership back in October.
The new streaming service, founded by Jeffrey Katzenberg, former Walt Disney Studios chairman and DreamWorks Animation CEO, is set to make its debut on April 6th. Pricing will start at $4.99 per month with occasional ads. If you prefer a plan with no interruptions, it will cost you an extra $3 per month.
Right now, it is unclear which tier will be available for free to T-Mobile customers. We also don’t know for sure if Quibi will be available across all plans or whether or not the freebie will be temporary or permanent.
What makes Quibi so interesting is that it promises to have 175 new original shows and over 8,000 “quick bites of content” available within the first year it launches. These quick content bites are said to last under 10 minutes, with content that includes news programs, movie chapters, and even short TV show episodes. Among the names that are on the lineup to produce quick bites content include Steven Spielberg, Chrissy Teigen, Bill Murray, Jennifer Lopez, Kiefer Sutherland, Kristen Bell, Idris Elba, Zac Efron, 50 Cent, and Kendall Jenner.
We’ll include more information once it becomes available.
