Telcel America is folding into Simple Mobile.
The Tracfone-owned wireless brand was first founded in 2012 and attracted customers for its international service plans that worked in the US and Mexico. The company offered plans that came with international calling to landlines and mobile devices in select locations.
Eventually, however, the service became redundant as the features that were offered by Simple Mobile, which is another Tracfone-brand. Not only that, it offered the same features and others that were not available on Telcel. Additionally, Simple Mobile has been a top-selling brand of Tracfone. And since both brands work under T-Mobile’s networks, it made no sense to continue offering Telcel services to customers.
In line with this decision, Telcel has revealed to its customers that they “will soon be a part of the Simple Mobile family” and that they will be able to “start enjoying more at no extra cost.”
