Last month, Google took the wraps off of its Pixel Fold smartphone. Ever since then, the device has been up for pre-orders with a June 27th release date. But there seems to be an ongoing issue for those who are pre-ordering the device.
As seen on a Reddit post, a customer who pre-ordered the Pixel Fold discovered that his order had been canceled. Several other US and UK customers shared their own experience. Collectively, this problem seems to be affecting customers who ordered via Google Store instead of using retail and carrier channels.
The affected customers shared that their pre-order couldn’t be processed since their “payment method couldn’t be verified.” But there were also some who had to place a new order again. Doing this, however, resulted in a delayed shipping date. There was also one user who was able to work around with this error by logging back in and confirming his bank card again.
AndroidAuthority has since asked Google for a comment on the matter. An update or a statement should be released soon.
