Unreal Mobile has a new owner and is taking on a relaunch. Taking a page out of Ryan Reynolds’ playbook is rapper/model, Iggy Azalea, with today’s hottest news. While we’re unsure whether Azalea now owns all of Unreal Mobile or an ownership stake like Reynolds’, the rapper announced on X that she co-founded the brand.
In her X post yesterday, Azalea announced:
“Tomorrow I’m finally relaunching the telecommunication company I co-founded and you will be able to purchase phones, or month to month cell plans using $MOTHER or Sol
Ad campaign n rollout to follow late this week. Exciting“
As shared by BestMVNO, this is the first time we’re hearing Azalea’s name attached to the brand. FreedomPop originally launched the brand in 2018 and was sold to Red Pocket Mobile a year later.
In addition to a new owner, the brand has revamped its website. Instead of featuring real people, it now features cartoon characters; perhaps an attempt to mirror Reynolds’ Mint Mobile branding.
As for its plans, Unreal Mobile doesn’t offer monthly plans. It only has three-month and annual plans, which come at a discounted price. Its plan pricing looks like this:
$15 per month Annual Plan: Comes with unlimited talk, text, 5GB data, and 1GB mobile hotspot (renews at $20 per month for three month customers)
$25 per month Annual Plan: Comes with unlimited talk, text, 20GB data, and 5GB mobile hotspot (renews at $30 per month for three month customers)
$30 per month Annual Plan: Comes with unlimited talk, text, 30GB data, and 10GB mobile hotspot (renews at $40 per month for three month customers)
For an unknown period of time, Unreal Mobile is offering the discounted rate for the three-month plan to new customers. But once they renew service, they will have to pay the regular renewal rate for three months of service. Taxes and fees cost extra.
Azalea highlighted that the MVNO runs on AT&T’s towers, which she says “have better coverage & pricing.” Customers can also activate plans using eSIM.
