Last week, Apple released the latest iOS and iPadOS 14.6 update. Unfortunately, some users have complained of excessive battery drain issues ever since they installed the latest software updates.
Disgruntled users turned to social media and online forums to complain about the issue they experienced with the latest update. As most of the complaints revealed, the battery on the iPhone 11 Pro and Apple Smart Cover drained faster than normal. One poster on the forum shared that after updating his device, his iPhone 11 Pro drained to 2% and Apple Smart Cover to 15%.
The forums also reveal that the battery draining issue is affecting all devices, regardless of its specific battery health. Some users have even commented that apart from draining faster than normal, they experienced overheating on their devices.
It’s possible that this issue is expected, especially since the update comes with a new recalibration feature for the battery health on the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Hopefully, Apple will address the issue real soon and provide a subsequent update to fix it.
