A day after T-Mobile launched its 5G network in 6 key cities, Verizon revealed new information on its own 5G network launch. As of this writing, the wireless provider has launched 5G service in Chicago and Minneapolis. But it looks like the company is adding two more locations to that list.
Earlier today, Verizon announced that it will be expanding its 5G network coverage to Denver and Providence. The provider revealed that its 5G Ultra Wideband Network has been launched in select areas of Denver. In the meantime, its 5G service is expected to be available in select areas of Providence beginning July 1st.
Even though Verizon’s 5G network can be experienced in 4 cities in the U.S., its availability still does not cover all parts of these cities. Just like the earlier 2 cities, Verizon’s 5G service is only available in certain areas.
In Denver, 5G service can be experienced in these areas:
Capitol Hill
Central Business District
Coors Field
Denver Center for the Performing Arts
Highlands
LoDo
Paramount Theatre
Sculpture Park
South of 37th (between Tejon and Navajo Streets)
The Denver Tech Center
For those who reside in Providence, 5G network speeds can be experienced in these parts of the city:
Brown University
College Hill
Federal Hill
Mt. Hope
Providence College
Rhode Island School of Design
Verizon still has plans to expand its 5G service to more cities before 2019 ends. These cities include Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Des Moines, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Little Rock, Memphis, Phoenix, San Diego, Salt Lake City, and Washington, DC.
Right now, there are only 4 5G-enabled smartphones that is compatible with Verizon’s 5G network. Among your options include the LG V50 ThinQ 5G, Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, Moto Z3 and Moto Z4 with 5G moto mod attached to it.
