Unlike its rivals, Verizon Wireless is not in a rush to roll out its 5G Ultra Wideband and 5G Home networks. Especially with its “nationwide” roll out of its low-band 5G signal last fall, Verizon has been pretty conservative with its 5G UW advertising. Despite this, Big Red continues to expand its mmWave network in small parts of different cities throughout the country.
With the recent announcement of the new Samsung devices, Verizon also announced its latest 5G expansions. The timing of the announcement may just be a coincidence, especially since Verizon did not reveal any new offer for these new devices. But it could also be Verizon’s way of reminding customers that its 5G UW network is already available in certain areas and are compatible with these devices.
Still, Verizon’s 5G UW network is growing and it may soon be available in more cities. Right now, Verizon’s 5G Home broadband is available in 52 cities. The network is making its way to Austin and Gresham.
