It looks like Verizon Wireless is getting ready to shut down one of its prepaid brands, Net10 Wireless. In its place, customers are being redirected to Simple Mobile’s website.
This was earlier noticed by BestMVNO, who noted that Net10 Wireless’ website says “New Changes Coming. No contracts, no credit checks, no hidden fees. Make the switch to Simple Mobile.”
Net10 Wireless was part of the brands that it acquired when it purchased Tracfone in November 2021. The other brands that were part of the package include Tracfone, Simple Mobile, Straight Talk Wireless, Total Wireless (now Total by Verizon), Page Plus Cellular, Walmart Family Mobile, SafeLink, and Clearway.
Considering the sheer number of wireless brands that came with the deal, Verizon was left to manage them all. And it looks like Net10’s shutdown can be expected from this. Hopefully, Verizon will be taking care of the brand’s existing customers and assisting them as they move to another brand.
