If you’re still carrying around a secondary device to have a private number, Verizon wants to help you out. Instead of carrying around two smartphones, Big Red unveiled a new plan called Second Number.
This new plan is literally self-explanatory. You get to have a second phone number on your smartphone. This way, you don’t have to carry around so many devices with you.
The way this plan works is that you simply need to swap between numbers when you need to use the phone or messaging apps. If you have an incoming call or text message, you will receive a notification on which line the call or message is on. Once you respond, it will be sent from the phone number that got the message or call.
If you have a dual-SIM device, you can activate this new Verizon plan. This is also suitable for Verizon postpaid customers only.
For a limited-time period, you can be one of the early enrollees who can get the plan for $10 per month (plus fees). Once the early bird period is over, the price of the plan will go up to $15 per month (plus fees) for new sign-ups. The regular price will be applied starting June 5.
