It’s always good to get the most value out of a service you’re paying for. If you are a Verizon customer under the Unlimited Ultimate and Unlimited Plus plans, you might not be fully utilizing your plan’s abilities. As shared by a Redditor, there is a switch you need to toggle on so you can view the highest-quality videos that your plan entitles you to.
Under these two plans, Verizon gives its subscribers “unlimited premium network access.” This allows you to stream up to 4K UHD video inside 5G Ultra Wideband areas and 1080p HD videos in both 5G and 4G LTE areas. Users on certain devices also have access to 4K UHD video streaming in 5G UWB areas and 720p HD in 5G and 4G LTE areas under the Unlimited Ultimate plan.
Weirdly enough, these streaming qualities are not switched on by default. You will need to toggle on the switch through the My Verizon website, the My Verizon app, or by calling customer service for assistance. If you don’t toggle this switch on, your videos will only be streamed at 720p in 5G UWB areas and 480p in 5G and 4G LTE areas. Toggling the switch, however, will consume data faster without changing your monthly rate.
