Verizon is quietly ending one of its lesser-known perks. The carrier has officially shut down +play, its all-in-one subscription hub that let customers manage and even save on various streaming and digital services like Netflix, Max, Paramount+, and Xbox Game Pass—all in one place.
The closure may come as a surprise to some, especially since Verizon had promoted +play as a convenient way to bundle and manage subscriptions, sometimes offering extra perks like free streaming trials or added discounts.
But without much warning or fanfare, the service has now been pulled from the My Verizon app and its standalone website. Customers trying to access it are now met with a simple message: “+play is no longer available.”
As reported by PhoneArena, Verizon began notifying users about the shutdown through email, encouraging them to manage their subscriptions directly with individual streaming providers from now on. Those who signed up for streaming services via +play won’t lose access, but their payments and account settings will need to be updated outside Verizon’s platform.
Launched in 2022, +play aimed to simplify subscription chaos by letting users handle everything from one dashboard. It even offered bundle deals that helped Verizon customers save money while trying out new services. While the concept made sense in an age of subscription overload, it never gained enough traction to become a must-have.
Verizon hasn’t given a public explanation for the decision, but it’s likely part of a broader move to streamline offerings that don’t drive major user engagement or revenue.
