AT&T sure is feeling generous lately. Indeed, the company has decided to boost the amount of data on its GoPhone prepaid mobile plans, and prepaid customers of the second biggest wireless carrier in the United States will no doubt be delighted to know that they can now enjoy more data at the same regular price as before.
For customers who are under the $45 a month GoPhone prepaid plan, they can expect their high speed data to increase from 2 gigabytes per month to 3 gigabytes per month. As for mobile users who are on AT&T’s $60 a month GoPhone prepaid plan, they will now get to enjoy 6 gigabytes of high speed data each month, a jump from the 5 gigabytes of data per month of before. And again, the pricing remains the same. The changes to the data allotments will officially take effect this Friday, May 27th of this year.
The $45 a month and the $60 a month GoPhone prepaid plans already include unlimited voice calls and text messaging every month, as well as AT&T’s Rollover Data service. For those not familiar with Rollover Data, basically it allows subscribers to roll over their remaining data to the next billing cycle, that is if they do not consume all of their allotted gigabytes in a given month.
Also take note that the $60 a month GoPhone prepaid plan comes with unlimited voice calls and text messaging to and from Mexico and Canada. Plus, customers will be able to use their plan’s 6 gigabytes allowance per month in either country without having to worry about paying any roaming fees. But users will need to be reminded that even though the use of data is absolutely free of charge, it may be discontinued if the customers’ use in Mexico or Canada reach over half of their total plan usage.
Those looking to enjoy even more savings (and some added convenience to boot) may do well to sign themselves up in AT&T’s Auto Refill payment option. By doing so, they will be able to save $5 each month on both GoPhone prepaid plans.
It appears that AT&T has been busy restructuring some its options recently. Just a few days ago, the wireless carrier had announced that it was going to simplify its smartphone financing options by reducing the number of plans to just two, AT&T Next Every Year and AT&T Next.
