Boost Mobile, a prepaid arm of major US wireless carrier Sprint, has just introduced brand new plans, including an unlimited and unthrottled plan that goes for $60 a month. Plus, the prepaid service provider is also debuting a couple of new plans that feature growing data, wherein the users gets to enjoy an extra 500 megabytes of data going forward for every three on-time payments (not necessarily consecutive). Customers can get up to 3 gigabytes of growing data after completing 18 on-time payments.
To summarize, here are the new plans from Boost Mobile:
These trio of plans already come with unlimited voice calls and unlimited text messaging. For the $35 a month and $45 a month plans, customers get unlimited data, but it will be throttled when the high data allotment is all used up. For new activations, Boost Mobile’s existing monthly plans will be supplanted by the new plans introduced today. As for those who currently hold Boost Mobile plans, theirs are grandfathered. But if they decide to avail of the new plans, they will need to complete a plan change via the online My Account page, at a Boost Mobile dealer, or by calling Boost Customer Care directly. Those who are under any of the new plans from a Shrinkage or 2 gigabytes for Life plan will lose their shrinking payments or additional 2 gigabytes of high speed data.
The accumulation of growing data will not be affected by swapping devices. Customers who opt to upgrade from a $35 Growing Data plan to a $45 Growing Data plan get to keep their accumulated data. But if they decide to downgrade from $45 to $35, their accumulated data will be purged, which means that they will have to grow data from scratch once again.
Apart from the new unlimited and growing data plans, Boost Mobile is also extending a special offer from October 1st to January 3rd of next year, only at independent dealers. This promo offers discounts on handsets and free devices to customers porting from a non-Sprint wireless carrier. The following devices are included:
Also, Boost Mobile is launching LG's G3 and the G Flex 2 devices (both priced at $329.99) on October 4th on BoostMobile.com, and on October 16th at Boost Mobile dealers. As for Sprint’s other prepaid arm Virgin Mobile -- starting on October 8th, data used streaming music content from Pandora, iHeart Radio, and Slacker will not be counted against the customer’s high speed data allotments. This applies to customers currently under the $35 unlimited plan (with 1 gigabyte high speed data), the $45 unlimited plan (with 3 gigabytes high speed data), and $55 unlimited plan (with 8 gigabytes high speed data).
