Fresh from announcing the global rollout of its newest flagship device, the G4 smartphone, LG is now introducing two new variants of the same handset. Indeed, the South Korean phone maker is unveiling a phablet variant, the G4 Stylus, and a budget edition, the G4c, of its latest smartphone offering.
As its name implies, the G4 Stylus comes with a stylus pen to be used for navigation or for input purposes. As far as design goes, the G4 Stylus is essentially identical to the regular G4 handset, save for a bigger display screen (the G4 Stylus has a 5.7 inch display screen compared to the regular G4's 5.5 inches). Also, the G4 Stylus has lower specifications when it comes to its cameras. For instance, it sports a 13 megapixel rear side camera (8 megapixels for the 3G edition) and a 5 megapixel front side camera, while the regular G4 has a 16 megapixel rear side camera and an 8 megapixel front side camera.
Hardware specifications wise, the G4 Stylus packs a 1.2 GigaHertz Quad Core processor, although this LTE-capable variant has a 3G edition that features a 1.4 GigaHertz Octa Core processor. The handset is supported with 1 gigabyte of random access memory (RAM) and 8 gigabytes of internal storage, and with a microSD slot. Its battery comes in at 3,000 mAh and it conveniently removable. Lastly, the devices is powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop.
As for the budget-friendly variant, the G4c, it features a smaller display screen (5 inches) compared to the regular G4's. Like the G4 Stylus, the G4c is equipped with an 8 megapixel rear side camera and a 5 megapixel front side camera.
The G4c also supports LTE and features a 1.2 GigaHertz Quad Core processor. It also comes with 1 gigabyte of random access memory (RAM), and 8 gigabytes of internal storage, plus a microSD slot. The handset runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop and has a 2,540 mAh battery.
It is quite common for smartphone makers to diversify their line of handsets by introducing variants to their devices, even their flagship phones. LG is no exception, and by unveiling two new alternatives to its G4 smartphone, the South Korean phone maker is also offering differently priced options for its customers. But for these two new devices, LG has not divulged any official pricing information yet nor any details about availability.
