It appears that Motorola has a full year ahead, that is in terms of smartphone releases -- well at least according to tipster extraordinaire Evan Blass. The famous leaker has recently got hold of an image that portrays a presentation showing Lenovo’s smartphone plans for the rest of 2017. Based on the leaked picture, it appears that the Chinese tech giant is readying to launch at least nine handsets in the next few months.
Perhaps the most worthy of attention is the Moto X4, which is said to be Motorola’s latest addition to its Moto X lineup of smartphones. It is safe to say that fans of the Moto X brand are excited for a new device, especially when one considers that it has been a long time since a Moto X offering was released in the market (that was way back in 2015).
But Blass leaked image should help fuel the anticipation of fans -- based on the picture, the Moto X4 will reportedly come with a 5.2 inch 3D glass display screen, as well as a SmartCam. A video posted on Reddit also offers some clue with regards to the specifications. The device is said to be midrange offering, packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chip set, aided by 4 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM), 64 gigabytes of onboard memory, a fingerprint sensor, and a rather large 3,800 mAh battery.
Apart from the Moto X4, other devices to watch out for include the new Moto Z Play and Moto Z Force devices. These handsets will come with mods, with the latest Moto Z Force version featuring gigabit LTE data. And the presentation image also suggests that Motorola fans can expect a new Moto G, or at least an upgraded edition perhaps (like a dual camera configuration on the rear side of the Moto G5 Plus, for instance), considering that the Moto G5 devices have just been released. Furthermore, there will also be a pair of new Moto E handsets, including possibly a Moto E Plus that is equipped with a 5.5 inch display screen, as well as a whopping 5,000 mAh battery.
The presentation image does not offer anything in terms of a definite timetable with regards to the launch schedule of the new Moto devices. If anything else, the leaked photo does suggest that Lenovo indeed has lots of plans in the coming months. Also, looking at the bigger picture, it is safe to say that the second half of the year is looking to get more interesting, at least when it comes to Android powered mobile devices.
