The last few months have certainly seen Motorola diligently update its existing lineups of smartphone devices. During the first quarter of this year, the phone maker introduced the new Moto G5 and the Moto G5 Plus handsets. Then about a couple of weeks ago, the company also updated its Moto Play series with the Moto Z2 Play.
This time around, the mobile manufacturer is launching a pair of new additions to its budget friendly Moto E brand -- meet the Moto E4 and the Moto E4 Plus. The regular Moto E4 should please those looking to purchase an affordable smartphone. Hardware wise, it is equipped with either of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 425 or Snapdragon 427 processors, and supported with 2 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM) as well as 16 gigabytes of built in memory.
The device’s 5 inch display screen (with a resolution of 720 pixels) is paired with an 8 megapixel main camera on the rear side, plus a 5 megapixel selfie shooter on the front side. The Moto E4 also packs a 2,800 mAh battery and comes preloaded with Google’s Android 7.1 Nougat mobile operating system. Despite the fact that the phone comes with a price of $130, it will eventually make its way to Amazon’s Prime Exclusive, where the device will be offered for even less (thanks to Prime Exclusive’s ad subsidized business model).
As for the bigger Moto E4 Plus, it offers more generous screen real estate with a 5.5 inch full HD display, flanked by a 13 megapixel main shooter on the rear side and a 5 megapixel selfie camera on the front side. Inside, the device packs a four core Qualcomm Snapdragon 427 chip set, and a whopping 5,000 mAh battery, which is an improvement compared to that of the Moto E Power released last year, and frankly, every other flagship device out in the market this year. Speaking of power, the Moto E4 Plus can work with the 10W rapid charger, which can deliver hours of battery life in just a few minutes of charging. Other features include a fingerprint sensor, and Android 7.1 Nougat OS.
By continuing to update its Moto smartphone offerings, Motorola is starting to build quite a track record, in terms of affordable devices with impressive specifications. The exciting news is that the phone maker is not done yet this year -- its fans can still expect the new Moto Z Force as well as the new Moto X making their respective debuts in the next few months.
