This might just be the most super welcome news for mobile users who are fans of watching motion pictures -- Wireless Mobi Solution is offering a smartphone device that has its own built in HD projector. Meet Movi -- a fully functioning Android powered handset that features an embedded 50 lumen projector that comes with support for projecting 720 p HD pictures a hundred inches in size onto a white screen or wall.
Basically what the Movi smartphone does is project whatever video content is being shown on its display screen, so if a user is watching a Pixar movie on his handset, he can go ahead and project the film up on the wall. It goes without the saying that the Movi phone’s projector can also be used to show picture slides and of course, PowerPoint presentations.
Wireless Mobi Solution is far from being the only phone maker to think of combining a mobile device with a projector. More than half a decade ago, Samsung also came up with the same idea and released the Galaxy Beam. Then more recently, who can forget Motorola’s Moto Z lineup of smartphone devices with their Moto Mods, one of which includes a projector (the Insta Share Projector Moto Mod) that can be easily attached to any Moto Z model. What Wireless Mobi Solution did right, however, is make the projector a built in feature as opposed to a removable component. Moreover, it did well to integrate a high definition 720 p pico projector, which is powered by the PicoP Scanning Engine tech developed by MicroVision.
Its projector aside, the Movi phone’s specs are not actually bad. It offers a 5.5 inch full HD, IPS display screen (resolution of 1,920 by 1,080 pixels), complemented with a 13 megapixel camera on the rear side and an 8 megapixel selfie shooter on the front side. It also is fitted with a MediaTek MT6750V/WT chip set, aided by 3 gigabytes of random access memory and 32 gigabytes of onboard storage (expandable up to 128 gigabytes by way of a micro SD card slot). Its other features include a rear mounted fingerprint sensor, an impressive 4,000 mAh battery, and Google’s Android Nougat mobile operating system.
