Samsung has officially announced the new Z3 smartphone, which the South Korean phone maker is positioning as an advanced, powerful, feature heavy, and easily customizable handset powered by Tizen, the open source mobile operating system that it developed on its own. After the Z1 device (which was released in the Indian market in January early this year), the Z3 handset marks the second time a Tizen powered smartphone has made it to market, even though the device is also designed for Indian mobile consumers.
The Samsung Z3 device comes with a super clear 5 inch HD resolution display screen that utilizes Super AMOLED technology in order to present better, more colorful, and more detailed pictures. Camera wise, the Z3 features an advanced 8 megapixel Bright Lens camera on the rear side, capable of capturing very high quality images. On the front side is a 5 megapixel camera, which should please selfie loving users -- the smartphone even has an Automatic Selfie feature that uses facial recognition when taking selfies, a Beauty Face mode that automatically retouches pictures to achieve an enhanced skin effect, and a Wide Selfie feature that allows users to capture up to 120 degrees of the user’s surroundings in order to get the best group selfie possible.
With regards to hardware specifications, the Z3 smartphone features a 1.3 GigaHertz four core chip, and is supported by 1 gigabyte of random access memory (RAM) and 8 gigabytes of internal memory, plus a micro SD slot that expands onboard storage up to 128 gigabytes. Its battery comes in at 2,600 mAh, and is complemented by an Ultra Power Saving mode that lets mobile users operate the device on standby for up to 33 hours with less than 10 percent of battery life.
Samsung’s Z3 smartphone comes out of the box already preloaded with the My Galaxy mobile app, which offers mobile users a wide range of exclusive services, local Indian deals, entertainment content, as well as various perks related to customer service assistance, travel, movies, music, and many more. Moreover, users also get treated to the Mix Radio mobile app, which is made exclusively available to Samsung customers only. This app offers more than 35 million tracks to choose from, including more than 10 genres of local Indian music.
