As a new year starts, T-Mobile continues to make its T-Mobile One unlimited plan more appealing to customers. This time around, the third biggest wireless carrier in the United States has decided to get rid of taxes and fees, and has even gone as far as handing $10 credits to subscribers who consume no more than a couple of gigabytes a month per line of service. As for existing subscribers of Simple Choice mobile options, they can choose to stay under their current plans. For new subscribers, however, they will be offered only unlimited wireless plans starting January 22nd.
During a media event at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show held in the city of Las Vegas in Nevada, John Legere, the chief executive officer of T-Mobile, expressed his thoughts on how more and more people are accessing the world wide web through mobile devices. He said that eight percent of all Internet access is done by way of smartphones and tablet devices, whether consumers are shopping online or using social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. But he stressed that mobile operators are still charging Internet loving customers per byte used up.
With T-Mobile One plans, the prices remain unchanged -- for one line of service that comes with unlimited voice calls, text messaging, and LTE data, the cost is still at $70 per month for subscribers under accounts with Auto Pay. Getting a second line of service will mean an extra $50, and more additional lines of service (with eight the maximum number) costing $20 per line. For those customers who wish to get an additional tablet device, they will need to pay $20 per device. As for those customers who do not mind paying an extra $15 per month in order to enjoy watching higher quality video content (compared to that offered by less expensive plans), the T-Mobile One Plus plan remains an option.
It should be noted that the latest improvements to T-Mobile’s unlimited plans are not temporary special offers -- they are there for good. The wireless carrier has promised subscribers that they will not have to go through any drastic price restructuring, unless of course they choose to switch to another mobile plan. But for those who are looking for a limited time promotional deal, know that T-Mobile is offering $150 per line of service for up to 12 lines for customers who decide to switch from rival networks to T-Mobile.
