iOS users, your device may need updating soon.
As reported by PhoneArena, there are some serious vulnerabilities that could affect Apple products such as the Mac, iPod, iPad, and iPhone. This was earlier reported by Apple itself.
According to Apple, the recently discovered security flaw allowed hackers to gain “full admin access” to devices it had affected. Attackers could impersonate the device owner and operate any software under their names.
As recommended in the post, device users starting from the iPhone 6s should immediately update their device to iOS 15.6.1 and iPadOS 15.6.1. The other devices that are affected by the security risk include fifth-gen iPad and later, iPad Air 2, seventh-gen iPod Touch, and all iPad Pro models. Macs that are running macOS Monterey are also at risk.
Apple has released a support page addressing the security concerns. The WebKit flaw requires a vulnerable device to make “maliciously crafted web content [that] may lead to arbitrary code execution.” Meanwhile, the second bug discovered gives a malicious app permission “to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges.”
With these at risk, it’s important that compatible devices need to be updated as soon as possible. If you are using any of these devices, you can go to Settings > General > Software Update.
