When Apple released its latest iPhone 14 series, users complained of a number of bugs affecting their devices. Thankfully, Apple has released the latest iOS update that aims to get rid of these bugs. One of the bugs that iOS 16.0.3 exterminates is the Crash Detection bug users experienced while riding a rollercoaster.
This was detailed by PhoneArena, who revealed that emergency medical personnel were being sent to amusement parks after the new Crash Detection feature bug alerts them. Hopefully, the bug gets taken care of so that first responder teams won’t have to waste time going to a mistaken alert and otherwise attend to a real emergency.
If you still don’t have the update on your device, you can disable the Crash Detection feature before riding a rollercoaster. This way, your iPhone doesn’t send out an alert to first responders. You can disable it by turning on Airplane Mode, switching your iPhone off, leaving it with another person on the ground, or disabling the feature by going to Settings > Emergency SOS. Switch off Call After Severe Crash.
Apart from the Crash Detection bug, the iOS 16.0.3 update gets rid of other bugs such as:
Delayed or undelivered incoming calls and app notifications on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max
Slow launching or switching between camera modes on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max
Mail crashes on launch after malformed email
Low microphone volume during CarPlay phone calls on iPhone 14 devices
You can check for an update on your iPhone and install it by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
