AT&T has just launched its 5G+ network in Chicago.
The US carrier rolled out a number of upgrades to its low-band 5G network this year, which made it possible to reach nationwide coverage. Apart from this network, AT&T has a high-band 5G network making use of millimeter wave (mmWave) spectrum.
With today’s news, this adds to the number of cities that AT&T’s mmWave spectrum covers. The network is now live in certain areas of downtown Chicago. To be more specific, the areas that have gained coverage include The Loop, the United Center, and along the Magnificent Mile. Meanwhile, the rest of Chicago has access to AT&T’s low-band 5G coverage.
This makes Chicago as the 37th US city to get 5G+ coverage. The other cities with this coverage include the following:
Atlanta
Austin

Charlotte

Cleveland
Dallas
Detroit
Houston
Indianapolis
Jacksonville
