Earlier today, AT&T revealed that it has added more perks to its top-tier Unlimited plan that costs $85/month. The good news about this move is that these perks do not come with an additional cost to its subscribers.
Starting this week, AT&T’s Unlimited Elite subscribers will have access to unlimited high-speed data. They will also no longer be subject to deprioritization once they reach 100GB of data per month. These customers will also get to enjoy a monthly hotspot data allotment increase from 30GB to 40GB and up to 4K video streaming instead of the 1080p max. All existing subscribers will get to enjoy these perks starting this week.
AT&T proudly says these new perks are identical to the Magenta Max plan that T-Mobile started offering at the start of this year. The two plans also cost the same and are nearly identical. The only thing that separates them is that AT&T offers HBO Max to its subscribers while T-Mobile offers Netflix.
In response to AT&T’s release today, T-Mobile Consumer Markets EVP Jon Freier has this to say:
“The Un-carrier drives the competition to be better for customers, and while it’s been a long time since AT&T tried to keep up, it only took them four months to follow our lead with a Magenta MAX knock-off. Too bad AT&T customers will still have to use AT&T’s network. It’s like we said, a strong T-Mobile is GREAT for customers. Now, when will Verizon, Comcast, Charter decide to step up?”
