AT&T and the National Basketball Association (NBA) have partnered together to give students better access to data services and put an end to the homework gap.
The health crisis has forced students to stay at home and continue their education through the internet. Unfortunately, not everyone has access to an internet connection and a device that supports this learning method. In fact, almost 17 million children have been counted as those facing the problem with the homework gap.
As a way of addressing this, both AT&T and the NBA have contributed up to $100,000 to Connected Nation, a non-profit that helps communities with their broadband and digital technology problems by distributing hotspots and internet service. The contribution of the two will help a lot of students as they continue their education remotely.
With every retweet of certain tweets under the accounts of @ATT and @NBACares, AT&T will be donating $1 to Connected Nation (up to $50,000). At the same time, the NBA will match this donation. In total, the two will be donating up to $100,000 to the non-profit organization. This is for retweets from today until January 11, 2021.
