AT&T is getting ready to shut down its 3G network in a few months. And in order to help their customers make the transition, they are offering free replacements.
AT&T will be shutting down its 3G network in February 2022. But with some subscribers still using a 3G-only phone, this will mean that they will lose service. To remedy this, AT&T revealed that they will be sending out replacement devices.
According to this report, subscribers are supposed to ask one if they want the replacement device. But due to inventory constraints, AT&T has sent out a substitute for some devices.
Among the devices they have sent out to affected customers include a Samsung Galaxy Note9, Samsung Galaxy A11, Samsung Galaxy Note10, or Samsung Galaxy S9. There is really no guarantee on what device they send out. It’s possible that these devices are just the ones that are available in their inventory and they are sending them out. But either way, it still is a great way to get a free phone.
If you are currently still using a 3G-only phone and have not received a replacement, you can call 611 to speak to one of AT&T’s representatives and even get a schedule in one of their stores.
