When 2022 started, it looked like Dish would be launching its Boost Infinite service by fall. But it looks like this target date could be moved to the first quarter of 2023.
As shared by Dish Chairman Charlie Ergen, the service has since been launched internally and has “a pretty good experience” for those users. The executive admits that there’s still some work to do. After all, Dish’s plan is to make Boost Infinite a full postpaid service. Dish’s plan is to focus distribution on digital before national retail.
In a recent earnings call, Ergen said that Dish already has over 10,000 towers that reach more than 35% of the country. They are also adding around 1,000 towers each month. But in order to continue its network deployment, Dish is looking for $2 billion.
At launch, customers won’t be using Dish’s own network. And currently, they are still using T-Mobile’s system. But they plan to launch Boost Infinite as an AT&T MVNO until they use their own OSS/BSS.
